This morning, we visited Poogan's Creamery in Raymond, owned by Carmen Halsey. As the shop wraps up its sixth season, Carmen shared her journey and how they renovated an old barbershop into a space where neighbors can gather and spend time together. Her goal from the start was to create a true social spot for the community while pouring into others and creating jobs.

The team heard how much you learn along the way when starting a business, from testing different ice cream suppliers to figuring out what works best for a seasonal shop. Carmen encouraged the team to embrace the unknown, keep seeking to learn, and stay focused on the three Ps: product, people, and processes. She also stressed the importance of creating an experience the moment customers walk through the door, and above all, remembering your mission.
