The CEO team recently visited Gianni’s Pizza where owner Vince Vitale shared insights from his journey growing up in the restaurant industry and eventually purchasing the Hillsboro location. Vince discussed how adapting during COVID led to the launch of a frozen pizza operation, the importance of batching work to improve efficiency, and how strategic capital investments in equipment and facilities support long-term growth.
Students also learned about the importance of systems, routines, and compliance in maintaining quality operations, as well as leadership principles such as empowering employees, accepting feedback, and maintaining discipline as a business owner. Vince emphasized that a strong team culture, consistent processes, and a commitment to quality and fair pricing are key factors in building a sustainable business.
