The CEO Team met with Melissa Smith, Economic Developer and Community Planner for the City of Hillsboro, to learn how strong communities are built through intentional planning and investment.

Melissa shared how economic development starts with livability - focusing on housing, jobs, healthcare, and childcare before tourism. She also discussed how grants support local businesses and community improvements, and encouraged the team to balance long-term vision with strong short-term execution.
