Our team had the opportunity to tour Atlas 46 in Hillsboro. Atlas 46 designs and manufactures hard and soft goods for construction and trade workers, with hubs in Fenton, Missouri and Hillsboro, Illinois.
During the visit, we learned how the company thrives on speed and efficiency, tracking targets and KPIs to improve production. They use advanced technology and 3D printing to create new products and prototypes, constantly searching for better ways to handle production.
Atlas 46 operates across multiple departments - R&D, quality control, and production - and serves a variety of revenue streams including B2B, e-commerce, and retail. They shared insights on employee recruitment, training, and incentivizing productivity, as well as the importance of the “cool factor” - products must look appealing to sell.
This visit gave our team valuable lessons on innovation, marketing to your target audience, and the power of continuous improvement in business.
