CEO toured WSMI with Mike Niehaus and Gabe Osborn. People listen to the radio while doing other things like driving, housework, or playing in the background at work. So while media outlets are growing exponentially, there is still a niche audience for radio.

WSMI listeners especially listen in for local news and broadcasts. “Unfortunately, since COVID we haven’t had special events or games to broadcast, but that will change,” Mike explained regarding the empty office for event sponsorship sales.

Mike oversees sales and advertisements while Gabe manages the farm show. “I grew up on WSMI. I didn’t look at the clock in the morning; I just knew when the sports broadcast was over it was time to head for the bus.” Gave explained that most listeners find that tuning into one station for local news, state and national news, and country music is quite appealing.
